There's definitely a big problem when it comes to large social media firms and how their algorithms control distribution. However, I also believe there to be a sense of apathy within large swaths of the general populus when it comes to examinig and learning about such global issues. I think it may have something to do with either a sheer lack of interest, exhaustion, or spatial distortion.
